Report inappropriate content
When and how to flag a track, post, profile, or message that breaks the Community Guidelines.
When to report
Click the small flag icon on any track, post, profile, or comment that you think breaks the Community Guidelines. Categories we handle:
- Spam: bulk-uploads of identical content, fake engagement
- Harassment: targeted abuse, threats, stalking
- CSAM: child sexual abuse material (zero tolerance, immediate action)
- IP / copyright violation: someone uploaded music they don't own
- Malware / phishing: a file or link that tries to compromise visitors
- Impersonation: someone pretending to be you, your label, or another real person
- Other: use the optional message field to explain
How it works
- Click the flag icon next to the content.
- Pick a reason from the list.
- Optionally add a short message giving context.
- Submit.
You'll see "Reported" confirmation on the button. Your account isn't shown to the reported party, only to our moderators.
What happens next
- A moderator reads your report. CSAM and active harassment go to the front of the queue.
- If 3+ different people independently report the same target, our system flags it for priority review so we see it immediately. The content stays visible until a human reviews it; the crowd signal just moves the report to the top of the moderation queue.
- If we agree the content violates the rules, we take action: a warning email, content removal, or account suspension (see how enforcement works), or in CSAM/fraud cases, immediate suspension + reporting to authorities.
- If we don't agree, we dismiss the report. We don't notify you in either direction; that would create a target for retaliation.
Anti-abuse
You can only file one active report per target. If you click report on the same track twice, the second click is a no-op. After we resolve a report (action or dismiss), the same target can be reported again if new behavior justifies it.
False reports affect your account. We track patterns: if you consistently flag content that doesn't violate any rule, we may limit your ability to file reports. Don't weaponize reporting.
What's NOT a report
- "I don't like this music": taste isn't a violation
- "This artist follows me without permission": following is allowed
- "I want this account deleted": that's for the account owner via /settings/privacy
- "I had a billing problem": email info@soundassist.online
DMCA copyright notices
If you're a rights-holder filing a formal DMCA takedown notice (not a casual "I think this is a cover"), use the dedicated process at /legal/dmca. The DMCA flow requires legal identification + a sworn statement; heavier than this report button, and with stronger legal weight.
Appeal a moderation decision
If you think we took the wrong action on YOUR content:
- Email info@soundassist.online with the URL or content ID.
- A person looks at it again and writes back. The window we hold ourselves to is written down in the Community Guidelines.
See /legal/community-guidelines for the full appeal procedure.
