What is SoundAssist?
You upload, an engineer listens. What you can do here, who it's for, what it costs.
Upload your track, and an engineer listens. That is the shape of the whole thing: you put your sound up, a person hears it, and you get notes you can act on. Someone always listens here, a SoundAssist engineer at the very least, and the ear that meets your work is human.
What you can do
- Put a track up. Upload a new track in the menu, or drop the file anywhere on the front page. Lossless or lossy, whatever came out of the session.
- Post the next version. v1, v2, v3 on one page, each with a line about what changed. Nothing is overwritten, and the link you already sent stays the same.
- Send a private link. One address that plays your track. Whoever you sent it to needs no account, and you can rotate the link if it travels further than you meant.
- Read timestamped feedback. A note lands at 1:23, so "the snare feels late" stays attached to the snare instead of floating in a chat thread.
- Have it mastered. When you decide the track is done, the same engineer who followed your versions masters it on a reference system.
What it costs
Stereo mastering is €59,99 per track, and you only pay when you love the master. It is the one engineering service we offer: for that price an engineer listens along while you mix, and masters the track when you are happy with the mix.
Everything you hear here is lossless; the files are kept and streamed as FLAC at the bit depth and sample rate you uploaded.
Who it's for
Anyone who works with sound. Music is the heart of it, and these are the roles people pick for their profile:
- Artist
- Producer
- Mastering Engineer
- Mixing Engineer
- Recording Engineer
- Label
- A&R
- Podcaster
- Sound designer
An episode, a drone, a sound-design stem and a club track travel the same road here: put it up, someone listens, you get notes, you post the next version.
What it is not
- It is not a DAW. No editing, no mixing, no plugins. Bring the audio you already bounced.
- It is not a numbers game. There is an activity list, and what it says is "someone you work with posted a new version". No score, no ranking.
Your sound stays yours
The master you upload is stored exactly as it left your disk, and you can download it again whenever you want. From Settings → Privacy you can take a copy of your data with you, or delete the account and everything in it. We earn our living from mastering, not from your data.
