Manage notifications
Email digest cadence, which emails are always on, and one-click unsubscribe.
What we send
Transactional emails (always on, can't be disabled):
- Email confirmation at signup
- Password reset when you request one
- Email change confirmation when you update your address
- Magic link when you sign in with a one-time link
- Critical security notices (e.g. password change from a new device)
- Feedback notifications: when someone leaves a note on one of your tracks, or replies to a note you left. We email these so an offline maker still hears it; there's no per-note toggle.
Optional emails (opt-in only):
- Activity digest: a weekly summary of activity around you (new followers, feedback on your tracks, uploads from people you follow). Off by default; you only get it if you opt in, any time via Settings → Notifications. One-click unsubscribe in every digest.
- New-version alerts for a track: when you tap Notify me on someone's shared track and confirm the email, you get a mail each time they post a new version. One-click unsubscribe in every one.
Changing your preferences
Settings → Notifications controls the weekly digest:
- Digest: off / weekly
- Per-section toggles for what the digest includes (new followers, engagement on your tracks, uploads from people you follow)
- Security + other transactional emails: always on (can't be disabled)
Changes save immediately. The next weekly digest uses the new preference. Per-track new-version alerts are managed from each email's unsubscribe link, not this page.
One-click unsubscribe (the email footer link)
Every non-transactional email has an Unsubscribe link in the footer. Click it and that specific email type is turned off for your account. You don't need to log in; the link includes a one-time token that verifies you.
Gmail / Outlook / Apple Mail also show a native Unsubscribe button
at the top of the email (we send the RFC 8058 List-Unsubscribe header).
That button hits the same endpoint as the footer link.
After unsubscribing you'll get one final confirmation email saying "you're unsubscribed from X"; that's not a violation of your request; it's how mailbox providers verify the unsubscribe actually happened.
Re-subscribing
If you unsubscribed by mistake:
- Go to Settings → Notifications.
- Toggle the relevant email type back on.
There's no "confirm by email" step; your account toggle is the source of truth, and the unsubscribe link only flips that toggle off.
Suppression after bounces / complaints
Separately from your preferences, we maintain a suppression list:
- A hard bounce (the mailbox doesn't exist / permanently rejects) → your address is suppressed for all mail from us until it's cleared by hand.
- A soft bounce (mailbox full, a temporary reject) → we pause for a cooldown (a few days) and then try again automatically once it clears.
- A spam complaint → your address is suppressed for all mail from us, until you contact support.
This is to protect our sender reputation; high bounce + complaint rates get a domain rate-limited or blocked by major mailbox providers. We err on the side of "stop sending" rather than "keep trying."
If you think you're suppressed in error: email info@soundassist.online from the address you'd like to receive mail at + we can manually unblock.
