Create an account
Signing up, confirming your email, and picking your username.
Go to app.soundassist.online and click Create your free account. You'll need:
- An email address (we'll send a confirmation link there).
- A password (12+ characters; long passphrases work fine).
After signup we send a confirmation email. Click the link inside and you're in.
Confirmation email didn't arrive?
Common reasons + fixes:
- Check spam. Especially for first-time SoundAssist senders, the email sometimes lands in spam until your provider trusts us. Mark it "not spam" so future ones come straight to your inbox.
- Wait 30 seconds, then resend. The login page has a "Resend confirmation" button if you typed your email and clicked Sign in before confirming. Same button shows on the "Check your inbox" screen right after signup.
- Check the typo. If you accidentally typed
gmial.cominstead ofgmail.com, the email went to a real domain owned by someone else. You'll need to sign up again with the right address.
Picking your username
After confirming, you'll be asked for a username. This becomes your @name,
the name that travels with everything you share, and part of your address:
soundassist.online/p/<username>.
Rules:
- 3-30 characters
- Letters, digits, hyphens, underscores
- Case-insensitive (
Andreandandreare the same username) - Reserved words (admin, api, settings, etc.) are blocked
You can change it later in Settings → Account, but old URLs stop working:
anyone with a link to your old /p/<oldname> will see a 404. Redirects are
on the list, not built yet.
Your profile
Signing up asks only for your username and birth year, then takes you straight in. A photo, display name, role, country and a short bio are all optional, and you add them whenever you like in Settings → Profile. None of it changes what you can do with the account; it's purely how you show up to the people you share your work with.
Birth year
We ask for your birth year during signup. This is the EU AI Act + COPPA + GDPR Article 8 age-gate: under-13 visitors can't create accounts, and 13-15 visitors get a parental-consent notice. The value is never shown to anyone; it's a compliance record only.
